The ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ is the trade association representing companies that research, develop and supply medicines in the UK. Founded in 1891, it brings together around 120 large and small biopharmaceutical companies.
Who can be a member of the ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ?
Membership is open to companies across three categories: full members, research affiliate members, and general affiliate members.
Who sets standards for the pharmaceutical industry in the UK?
The ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ Code of Practice sets clear ethical guidelines for interactions between pharmaceutical companies, healthcare professionals, patient organisations and the public. It is administered independently by the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA).
How does the pharmaceutical industry work with government and the ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ?
The ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ represents its member companies to government departments, regulators and ÐÇ¿ÕÊÓÆµ bodies — supporting faster patient access to new medicines and contributing to policy on pricing, research investment and competitiveness.
